About Us

October 2006

Home Church started out as Community Bible Church Bulverde (MYCBCB) in October 2006 as a “satellite” church plant of Community Bible Church in San Antonio. Our initial services were held in a tent behind the Loft coffee shop, on Highway 281. The initial few months of our history were characterized by….cold. The side flaps of the tent would blow up in the wind. A resident cat would take to the stage during the sermon to demonstrate thorough grooming techniques. The 20 to 30 people who attended always had something to laugh about.

Rapid growth soon changed the venue, but not the spirit. In early 2007, God provided an even better location in the Crossroads Building, located next to the old EMS station across the highway. With 50-75 regular attendees, we pitched in to clean, paint, install baseboard, vacuum, and set up chairs. Over the next two years, we grew to two services and a committed group of believers.

2009

Continued growth led our church to our current location in Spring Branch. On Sundays, we celebrated Jesus together, heard the Word, and loved each other inthe main congregations. Throughout the week we met in smaller life groups to deepen our relationships with God and with each other.

2019

We began to feel the limitations of our facility as we were quickly reaching capacity in our sanctuary, kids’ classrooms, group spaces, parking lot, and even septic system. This prompted our elders and church leaders to start identifying the long-term solutions that would allow us to continue to grow.

The issues we identified at this time became less of an issue when the covid pandemic happened. Even though the issues were no longer present, our church leaders continued to thoroughly seek out long-term solutions for future church growth.

2021

We completed our “Mortgage Bash” campaign and completely paid off our mortgage in July 2021, celebrated by Larry burning our mortgage on stage! As a result of paying off our mortgage early, we were able to increase our budget for our Outreach Ministry!

2023

As MYCBCB continued to grow, we felt God calling us to our next chapter – as willing as we were to follow His call, we didn’t quite know where that was. After a year of prayer, God revealed to us through His people, who He is calling us to be and what He’s calling us to do.

2024

At the beginning of 2024, we were proud to announce our church’s new name and the mission that God has led our church to pursue.

After years of praying and consulting with engineers, architects, TxDOT, Comal County, and every other professional needed to make this God-sized vision happen — we have a solid plan and we foresee being able to break ground in the Spring of 2025!
